Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026 · Deutsche Fassung
Who we are
Toerdle is provided by Nils Vogel, Posenerstraße 3, 35510 Butzbach, Germany. Email: support@toerdle.app.
This policy applies to consumer health data of consumers in the US state of Washington under the Washington My Health My Data Act (RCW 19.373). It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes all data processing in Toerdle.
What consumer health data we collect
With your consent, Toerdle stores on our server:
- body and nutrition data: weight, goal weight, weight history, your goal (for example to lose weight), calories, nutrients, water and logged meals
- workouts: duration, distance, calories, heart rate, VO2 max and other measurements, strength exercises with sets, reps and weights
- precise location: GPS routes of your workouts and the location of workout photos
- activity data: steps, distance, workout time, level, streaks and results of challenges and live duels
Without your consent, the app uploads none of this. Your diary, calorie plan, date of birth, height and sex stay on your device and, if you use iCloud sync, in your private iCloud; we have no access to them.
Two other kinds of data can relate to your health:
- your account and profile: your name, email address and profile photo, which show that you use a nutrition and fitness app
- food searches that found nothing: up to 20 search terms a day, sent with the app's usage statistics and linked to your account while you are signed in
Where the data comes from
- from you, when you log meals, weight and workouts
- from Apple Health and your Apple Watch, if you allow access
- from your iPhone's sensors (location, motion) during a workout
- from the app's own calculations, for example calories burned
Why we collect and use it
- to run friends, the feed, leaderboards, challenges and live duels
- to show your values to the people described below
- to improve the food search
- to find and fix errors
We do not use consumer health data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Your consent
The app asks for your consent in a separate step before it uploads any of the data above. You give two separate consents with two checkboxes: one to collect and store the data on our server, and one to share it with other Toerdle users. You can withdraw both at any time in the app: Settings → Account and data → Privacy → "Share health data". The app then stops sharing and asks our server to remove your shared values.
With whom we share it
- Your friends in Toerdle see your daily summary (calories, nutrients, water, weight and goal weight), your feed with meals and workouts including heart rate and GPS route, and your workout photos with location.
- All signed-in Toerdle users see your leaderboard values (steps, distance, workout time, number of workouts, streak, duels, challenge results), your level and your avatar.
- People in a challenge or live duel with you see your progress, reps and results there.
- Service providers process data on our behalf: Supabase (server and database, hosted in Ireland), the Apple Push Notification service (notifications to your friends name you and the sport, without measurements), and Anthropic and Slack, if you mention health information in feedback you send us.
We have no affiliates with whom we share consumer health data. We do not sell consumer health data and do not use geofences around places where health care services are provided.
Your rights
If you live in Washington, you have the right to:
- confirm whether we collect, share or sell your consumer health data
- access your consumer health data, including a list of all third parties and affiliates with whom we have shared it and their contact information
- withdraw your consent to collecting and sharing your consumer health data
- have your consumer health data deleted, including by our service providers
To exercise these rights, write to support@toerdle.app. You can delete your account and its data yourself in the app: Settings → Account and data → "Delete account". We may ask you to confirm the request from the email address of your Toerdle account so we know it comes from you. We answer within 45 days; if we need more time, we tell you within those 45 days and take at most 45 more days. Requests are free of charge.
Appeal
If we decline your request, you can appeal by writing to support@toerdle.app with the subject "Appeal". We will tell you in writing within 45 days what we decided and why. If we deny your appeal, you can contact the Washington State Attorney General.
Changes
We update this policy when the app or the law changes. If a change needs your consent, we ask you first.
Deutsche Fassung: Datenschutzerklärung für Gesundheitsdaten (Washington)
Stand: Oktober 2026
Wer wir sind
Anbieter von Toerdle ist Nils Vogel, Posenerstraße 3, 35510 Butzbach, Deutschland. E-Mail: support@toerdle.app.
My Health My Data Act (RCW 19.373).
Schreib uns dafür an support@toerdle.app.
